A water boiler is a device used to heat up the water coming out of our faucets. It is connected directly to water pipes therefore it is not necessarily potable. Boilers vary in size, make and amount of water it can hold. There are also proper ways on using and installing water boilers to prevent accidents and to ensure it works properly.
Water boilers are usually installed vertically though it could be positioned horizontally when desired or if necessary. However the water boiler is placed, it has to be properly attached and covered for safety reasons and also not to make the area where it is located very warm.
To do that, you can place it in a case with pieces of wood, which could be as thick as 1 inch with a width of 1.5 to 2 inches per strip. As water boilers may explode when not properly used, it is advised to have it tested by warm water pressure and make sure that the boiler can withstand it.
Some boilers are appropriate for moderate pressure while certain kinds can stand heavy pressure. You can easily tell which by looking into the number or lines of bolts holding the metal plates together.
If your water boiler is directly connected to the water source or pipes, safety valves are not essential. It is only needed when there is an occurrence of another device controlling the flow of the water since this safety valve makes sure that the amount of fluid passing through is not too much.
Normally, a household with a single bathroom, a fixed basin and a set of laundry appliance could use a 40-gallon boiler while having two bathrooms would need approximately 50 to 60-gallon boiler.
It is always better to have a boiler that could hold more water than you could consume to assure you of sufficient amount of water and in cases when water pressure is low, this is also important.
Depending on how quick you want the water to be heated up for consumption, boilers are installed differently. There are also different tubes or passages where the water flows for heat to be retained or conserved. Make sure to check the boiler when buying it to ensure that you get the results you wanted.
When hot water is not in use, it will stay in the pipes and eventually cools off. To be confident that the water stays warm and so you won’t waste time waiting for the water to be warm, you can use a circulation pipe. This line is linked to the hot water supply therefore the water is continuously heated and comes back to the boiler when not in use.
